Aksitinin is a powerful and selective inhibitor of tyrosine kinase receptors of vascular endothelium growth factor (СЕФР-1, СЕФР-2 and СЕФР-3). These receptors take part in pathological angiogenesis, tumor growth and progression of malignant neoplasms. In vitro studies and on mice models of axitin, it provided a powerful suppression of proliferation, mediated by SEFR, and survival of endothelial cells. In mouse xenograft tumor models, it was shown that axitin inhibits tumor growth and phosphorylates SEFR-2.
